The Fire Department showed up in force at a student housing mitigation job we were doing. One of the residents had called them to report that she smelled radon in her apartment!
I would get this all the time with people smelling asbestos, silica and lead. It is just anxiety about health and people not understanding the science. Take the high road and use the opportunity to educate them.
Henri, did someone find out what it was that the student did smell? For example, products of incomplete combustion can have an odor and be a marker for odorless carbon monoxide...not radon, but something still worth taking prompt action to address.
